About Sam
Sam was born in late 2000 in York County, Pennsylvania. Growing up, Sam learned to place a high value on integrity, justice, honesty, and the power of helping those in need.
Early on Sam found interest in fulfilling leadership roles and had an early interest in politics. With that in mind, it is no real surprise that in his freshman year at the York County School of Technology during the 2016 Presidential election, Sam found himself wrapped up in the world of politics yet again. One of his friends who attended York Tech for the Information Technology program created a poster similar to that of President Obama's "Hope" poster using a photo of Sam's. "If you add my name to the bottom," Sam told him, "I'll run for president." Poster in hand, Sam quickly found the first year he would be Constitutionally eligible to run for president of the United States- in 2036. Shortly after the announcement of his candidacy at his school, Sam began a Facebook page (and later, this website) declaring his political intentions. However, Sam's 2036 presidential candidacy wasn't always the serious matter it is today. After publishing a "letter to the editor" of his local newspaper with a link to his Facebook page, York Daily Record columnist Mike Argento requested an interview with Sam. |
Sam was the President of the class of 2019 at the York County School of Technology, while studying Early Childhood Education. Watch his graduation speech here. Before graduating, Sam acquired his Certificate of Child Development (CDA), along with numerous hours volunteering in library and childcare settings. He believes that a consistent educational environment is crucial to growth of an individual and community and he plans to fight for educational reform in the United States.
